Saudaraku... My Kins...

1 Malaysia
Salam.

Benarkah?

Kita lihat majlis perkahwinan Melayu. Adakah kalian berbuat demikian sewaktu majlis pernikahan kalian? Malah kita lihat banyak aspek budaya kalian telah meresap masuk menjadi amalan masyarakat Melayu tanpa sebarang pencabulan. Lihat sahaja setiap kali tiba Hari Raya.

Tiada Tarian Kipas? Tiada Tarian Bhangra? Fikir – fikirkanlah.

Jadi kenapa perlu kita jadi hipokrit?

Salam. It has been two months si botak had been quiet. Trying to fight the excessive calcium that appeared to be hazardous. Yet, si botak is grateful to face this new hindrance as it leads si botak through a new gate of knowledge as well as meeting many new and exciting acquaintances.

Si botak tried to knock the keyboard today as the overwhelming feeling inside. Si botak is disappointed by some scholars discussing on 1 Malaysia. Why si botak is upset? It all shall be revealed through a formal write up below that shall be forwarded to all mainstreams media.

Salam. I am Moha Aziz from Kajang. I was called as to express my thought after hearing so much on 1 Malaysia concept as discussed on various channels.

I was turned off by the fact that almost no parties had realised that the concept is already grasped and the foundation has been sturdily built among Malaysian. There is no argument that now some issues on the survival of minorities has been arisen. Yet, the truth is the issues may be sensionalised by certain parties as to satisfy their own needs.

Let us city folks, that so proud of our ability to explore the borderless world, stop and look back towards the villages and small towns. There the so called 1 Malaysia community is already established. All races living together without prejudice nor jealousy.

That is not all, let us go through, briefly the way of our lives. From morning till dawn. The aspiration and implementation of 1 Malaysia is vividly emblazoned in our mind. How many Malays as well as Chinese will have the crave for Roti Canai and Teh Tarik every single day? Which race’s food are they enjoying? How many would also enjoy Nasi Lemak and Char Kuey Tiau? Is there any particular cuisine that would only be enjoyed by it’s owner only? Wouldn’t these be the fact that cultural asimilation existed here? This is only regarding food consumption. What about clothing, certain norms, life style that had been accepted unknowingly by all Malaysian?

I would also love to draw the non malays attention, that now eagerly believe the Malays are trying to annihilate their forefather’s heritage as well as failed to compromise other cultures. Is this true?

Let us have a peek in a Malay wedding. The henna used is based on Indian patterns defying the normal use that would only be apply on the nails only. The bride and groom would also put on various attires from various races without prejudice. Would all of you, non Malays do the same? We could also see many aspects of your cultures have been absorbed such as the giving of ang pau, the fire crackers and the acceptance of Murukku to be a must on every house during Eid. In fact, recently a friend of mine was late to arrive in Kuala Lumpur from Melaka, as many roads were closed as to give way to the Wesak’s parade. Is that mean there is compromise still?

Many would also love to blame the government by claiming there is injustice practised, favouring the Bumiputera. This Bumiputera practise has been here for decades. Is there no non Bumis has excelled? Is there no aid such as RMT and scholarship given to non Bumis? The government had tried to familiarised certain aspect of other cultures to Malays such as the usage of sempoa in Mathematics teaching. There might be weaknesses here and there, still, it has been implemented. If there would be performances in other countries, would there be only Malay cultural show? No Fan dance? No Bhangra? Think about it.

Thus, why should be a hypocrite? We all realised that of all these 50 years, we have leaned towards one and another to enjoy what we have today. There are certains issues should be reviewed as to satisfy the need of any races. Still, would it be worthy to deny the fact that we are Malaysian despite the urge to firmly held on to our tradition and racial identity.

To all respected politicians, why would it be a need to politicise almost everything? Would you sacrifice and jeopardise the harmonious and prosperous of our nation just to achieve what ever you are working on?
